Halogen Light Conversion
After reading a tech article on the Old Holden website about halogen light conversion on a HR, I thought for $130 it would be money well spent.
I thought it would be a quick 30 minute job but it ended taking me most of Sunday, mainly due to cleaning and painting the crusty headlight backing and shroud.
I used the Navra halogen conversion kit but swapped the supplied bulbs with ones called Phillips Vision Plus, which are meant to have better light over a longer distance. This also meant I didn't have to change relays etc as they are 60/55w for high and low beam respectively which the current setup can cope with.

On removal, the light backing and shrouds looked pretty sad. I spent half a day cleaning all the crap off them and gave them a quick blast of black paint. Times like this a blast cabinet would come in handy...

One side in, had to clean up the wiring a bit but the job is fairly easy.

The finished result! The difference is noticeable even in the day, the lights are whiter and look cleaner. A lot better than the tired yellow light look.
